Each individual adapts in all domains of life to grow and survive. Adapting to the job domain requires an ability called career adaptability. Transferable skills are also needed to adapt to various life contexts, including work settings. The concept of transferable skills has developed in higher education, vocational education and vocational rehabilitation contexts. This chapter contains an analytical description of transferable skills as part of career adaptability. The study was a literature review that used primary references from books and journal articles. This transferable skill study also discussed the theory and construct of career adaptability to develop guidance and counseling research and education in a rapidly changing world. The study results show that transferable skills as part of career adaptability need to be developed for the benefit of the younger generation to prepare them for such rapid changes in current times. The results of this study have implications for developing research designs and educational praxis, especially guidance and counseling, to help the younger generation pursue their careers. © 2023 Nova Science Publishers, Inc.
