Abstract

This research investigates the integration of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) education to enhance creative thinking skills among students through the application of color physics in tie-dye Shibori textile projects. By combining scientific principles of color theory with artistic tie-dye techniques, students engage in a holistic learning experience that fosters Creativity and practical skills. The study involves participants engaging in project-based learning, where they apply concepts of light absorption, color mixing, and dye absorption in creating Shibori textiles. Quantitative assessments and qualitative reflections demonstrate significant improvements in students’ creative thinking abilities and scientific understanding. The findings suggest that integrating arts with sciences in educational curricula can effectively enhance both cognitive and creative skills, providing valuable insights for educators aiming to implement comprehensive STEAM programs. © (2023), (Procedia Environmental Science).
