Decision Support System of Part-Time Job Applicants Rank for Information Technology Students Using the MOORA Method

Abstract

working is one of students' goals when they graduate from college. The difficulty of students competing with senior workers is a significant obstacle. Experience can be gained by working part-time while still studying. The aim of this research is to create a system that bridges students with job providers, especially jobs in the IT field. The advantage of this system is that it is equipped with a ranking list using the MOORA (Multi-Objective Optimization by Ratio) method to support employee recruitment decisions. There are 8 criteria, namely study program, work and internship experience, currently undertaking a thesis, organizational experience, number of expertise certifications, project work ability, research experience and lecturer service. Several of these criteria are grouped according to the priority weight of 20% in C5 (number of expertise certifications) and 20% in C6 (ability to work on projects). The results of the ranking in the recruitment of programmer jobs for lecturer research projects with a quota of 2 people, with an alternative names are A1 and A3 recommended to be accepted for part time work. So this system can be used as decision support for hiring part-time workers. This ranking-based information system is recommended for getting the best employees from among IT students who have met several criteria. © 2023 IEEE.
