Abstract

Achieving sustainable development and managing technological transformation increases the need for qualified and well-equipped human resources, which can only be possible with qualified human resources and proper talent management. At this point, to achieve the goals of sustainable development, a Society 5.0 approach based on human-centered and strategic talent management should be adopted. This research explores the transformation of human resource management within the framework of Society 5.0 and talent management strategies in the digital age. For this purpose, it was conducted to reveal innovative approaches, current horizons, strategy, and future directions in human resources and talent management within the theme of “Society 5.0″. The research was designed as a case study. The data source consists of interactive sessions held by relevant professional groups such as human resources professionals, academics, and career counselors in the public and private sectors. These interactive sessions discussed how human resources management has been transformed from the perspective of Society 5.0 and how this transformation is reflected in different sectors such as the defense industry, transportation, technology, and smart cities. Patterns in the data were discovered through content analysis and reported systematically. The findings are presented on work life and organization, early career and employment support processes, talent acquisition, talent development, talent retention, digital transformation, and human-centered design. In this context, current and future horizons are discussed from different perspectives. The study provides important insights to all stakeholders on improving current strategic approaches to address future challenges. It is emphasized that organizations and societies need to analyze their current situation well to develop sustainable and effective strategies in a rapidly changing world and to develop flexible, ethical, and human-oriented solutions for the future. This approach will play a critical role in ensuring long-term and sustainable success and well-being at both individual and societal levels. © 2025 The Author(s)
