Integrating Work- Based Education: Bridging Academic Knowledge and Practical Experience for Workforce Readiness

Work- based education (WBE), which bridges the gap between academia and industry, increases graduates' employability by giving them practical experience and industry- specific knowledge, better preparing them for the demands of the workforce. This paper aims to investigate the integration of WBEs. WBE is essential to modern education because it prepares graduates for the workforce by fusing academic knowledge with real- world experience. WBE better aligns educational objectives with labor market demands by fusing cutting- edge methods like competency- based and project- based learning with digital tools and virtual simulations. Its ongoing development is anticipated to improve its efficacy and better prepare graduates for the fast- paced labor market. This development will be aided by global collaborations and emerging technologies. Applying Blended learning Model in Piano Lessons: A Multi-Dimensional Study of its Impact on Students' Self-Cognition, Engagement and Emotional Support

This research aims to illuminate the multifaceted effects of blended learning on students' piano education, focusing on factors such as readiness, engagement, and emotional support. It investigates how the implementation of blended learning models can enhance students' outcomes in piano instruction through a flexible, autonomous, and supportive learning environment. Utilising a systematic literature review approach, this study analysed the multi-dimensional effects of blended learning on students' self-cognition, engagement, and emotional support. The TCCM (Theory, Context, Characteristics, and Methods) framework guided a comprehensive analysis of 45 peer-reviewed articles published between 2022 and 2024. A broad search across several academic databases, including Google Scholar, Scopus, Web of Science, and China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), yielded 112 articles. After screening through two phases—title and abstract review, followed by a full-text review—45 articles were selected for detailed analysis. The review reveals that blended learning significantly enhances student readiness and engagement in piano education. Specifically, student engagement would mediate the relationship between readiness and learning outcomes, while self-cognition and emotional support could play critical moderating roles. Insights from Cognitive Load Theory and Self-Regulated learning Theory emphasise the importance of managing cognitive load through the integration of online resources, feedback mechanisms, and practice tracking. The balance between digital and face-to-face interactions is crucial in fostering student engagement and readiness. This study contributes to the growing body of research on blended learning in music education, offering both theoretical and practical insights into optimising blended learning for piano instruction. While gaps in the literature remain, they present opportunities for further research into the interplay of cognitive-emotional and practical dimensions of blended learning across different cultural and instrumental contexts. Design and Implementation of a Practical AI Security System learning Kit for Intrusion Detection

Artificial intelligence (AI) is an essential component of today's security systems, especially in intrusion detection systems that use AI to analyze images and signals from closed- circuit television (CCTV) cameras and sensors, which will increase detection accuracy and reduce human errors. Therefore, vocational education must be developed in line with the advancement of AI technology to better prepare students for careers in related industries. However, the current challenge is that vocational education needs to fully integrate AI technology, primarily due to the lack of appropriate learning materials and understanding of the application of AI in security systems. This study aims to create a practical AI security system learning kit for intrusion detection to teach students practical skills in AI-driven security systems in real-world scenarios. A total of 20 vocational students were recruited for the experiment study. The results showed that the students had high-practical skills and positive attitudes after using the learning kit. © 2024 IEEE.

It is an essential factor that using a suitable learning model will enhance the learning outcomes for students. Project Based learning (PJBL) is cosidered one of the learning model that guide the student to study inside the classroom and on the industrial world. The students learn theoritically and practically. This research was to find out the strength and weakness of PJBL during teaching and learning inside and outside of the classroom. It used qualitative research by using descriptive design. Data were collected by using interview question using semi structure interview and documentation. Data were analyzed by using theory of Miles & Huberman and Mc Carthy about discourse analysis. There were 71 students becoming the sample of the research from Politeknik Negeri Padang. After conducting the research, it is found some strengths and weaknesses of the PJBL for teaching and learning. PJBL. The strengths are for example: improving the student motivation, making the student to be diligent and challenging, being able to solve the problem, increasing the student collaboration and cooperation, teaching the student to make decision and conceptual framework, and how to work on the field. For the weakness are for example: taking much time and money, difficult to collect the information and best decision, do not make all student creative and innovative, and needing sufficient facilities and technologies to do the project. © 2024, Universitas PGRI Sumatera Barat. Competence-based Educational Design Model for Medical Sciences Based on the Community of Inquiry

Introduction: Achieving competence as the main goal in medical education requires a dynamic and active learning process that includes the characteristics of a community of inquiry framework. This theoretical framework provides an overall and coherent structure of an interactive educational experience with a focus on the learning process. Therefore, the purpose of this research was to develop a competency-oriented educational model for medical sciences based on the framework of the community of inquiry. Methods: This was a qualitative and quantitative research. The qualitative part was conducted using qualitative content analysis of documents and focus group discussions, while the quantitative part involved internal validation of the educational design model through a descriptive survey method (based on experts' opinions) and a researcher-made questionnaire. The sampling method was purposeful, focusing on specific or unique cases continuing until theoretical saturation was reached. Results: Using qualitative content analysis (36 documents, 33 articles, and three books) and focus group discussions (with the participation of 14 experts in medical education), the dimensions of competence, principles of competency-based medical education, and principles of inquiry community were identified. Based on theoretical foundations, these were categorized into three domains: affective, cognitive-skills, and metacognitive, along with their subcategories. The alignment of these dimensions led to the formation of a competency-based medical education model, grounded in the inquiry community framework. Internal validation of the developed model was conducted using a researcher-made questionnaire and the participation of 14 experts in educational technology and medical education. According to the specialists' opinions, the developed model achieved a relatively high internal validity (T=14.52, P<0.0001). Conclusion: In this study, the competency-based educational design model for medical education, based on the inquiry community, exhibited appropriate design and organization, flexibility, and adaptability to individual learning needs, even in unpredictable situations within medical education. Its design and organization can be continuously refined and improved throughout the educational experience. Given that it achieved a relatively good internal validity according to the opinions of specialists in medical education and educational technology, it can be introduced as a suitable model in the field of competency-based medical education. © 2024 Research In Medical Education, and Guilan University of Medical Sciences.

Vocational universities play a crucial role in shaping a well-prepared workforce for various industries' demands. They Integrate local wisdom into English teaching and learning, bringing cultural relevance and a deeper sense of identity to students’ educational experiences. This research aimed to find out the lecturers and student point of view about implementing local wisdom-based English teaching and learning in vocational universities. The research question was how to implement local wisdom-based English teaching and learning in vocational universities from the lecturer's and students' point of view. It used descriptive qualitative research by using content analysis. Data were collected by using the interview method using validated interview questions. It was also analyzed using content analysis and social discourse of critical discourse analysis from Fairclough. It shows that there are several lecturers' and student perceptions about the implementation of local wisdom-based English teaching and learning in vocational universities, such as motivation for students, impact on language proficiency, enhanced student engagement, tailored teaching strategies, challenging in standardization, relevance to the local context, facilitating cross-cultural understanding, cultural preservation, community development and professional development. There are some significances of the research. This research can give lecturers a new paradigm or best practices for teaching English and learning in vocational universities. This research can give the students a new learning process for English learning.
