Partnerships with local public sector agencies, enterprises and tertiary institutions offer a means to inform young people about post-school pathways into working life and occupations that schools alone cannot achieve. Informing about those pathways is an important, yet, complex educational goal for schooling. This is because much of schooling effort privileges and is directed towards higher education entry. Often advice provided to young people through schools is by teachers and administrators who are, understandably, unacquainted with the range of post-school pathways other than higher education. School guidance officers report being ill-equipped and unable to provide students personalised advice. Consequently, sources of advice and experiences beyond the school are now being utilised, particularly through the growing role of partnerships. These partnerships take diverse forms and comprise different kinds of institutional alignments and are increasingly being viewed as essential bases for supporting effective and informed post-school transitions. This article presents and discusses a review of literature and a recent investigation to advance principles and practices of how such partnerships can be best initiated, enacted, and sustained over time and they can meet the goals of informing and guiding young people’s pathways, including options other than progression to higher education. © 2024 The Author(s). The article discloses a methodical system that could enable the designing and introduction of eco-oriented pedagogical technologies (EPT) into professional engineering education, which is a subsystem of the methodical eco-oriented education system and the following characteristics: integrity, components, structurality, compactness, functionality, multi-level, controllability and connection with the environment. It includes a set of interrelated components: methodology (methodological approaches: activity, competence, technological, systemic and personality-oriented approaches and principles: humanization of prognostication, design of conditions for preserving the gene pool of the biosphere; compensability; interdisciplinary and systematic; concept: use methods of development and application of EPT in the professional training of engineering students, which include complex of techniques with their specific forms, methods and means environmental knowledge and formation of appropriate behavior in solving pedagogical, environmental, environmental and health-preserving tasks, which will contribute to the achievement of harmony in relations between people, society, technologies, machines and environment); content (definition and terms for the development and application of EPT in professional education; information-theoretical knowledge about the state of development and application of EPT; knowledge about the processes of development and application of EPT); methods (forms of training; methods of eco-oriented training, eco-oriented training technology; training tools); evaluation and results (components of the formation of the teacher's readiness to implement EPT in his own professional activity are: value-motivational, informational-knowledge, reflective-active, control-evaluative). This paper adopts a bioscience perspective to critically examine Chinese undergraduate vocational education, with an aim to foster innovation across various levels of engineering, technology, and skill development. The study emphasizes talent cultivation through vocational banding theory, which enhances knowledge transfer, lifelong learning, and humanistic qualities such as craftsmanship, aesthetic sensibility, and social responsibility. It reflects on the education system's orientation towards major openings and vocational positions, highlighting a pattern of school-enterprise joint participation. The connection between undergraduate vocational education and enterprise positions is meticulously analyzed to ensure alignment with industry demands and job-specific competencies. Curriculum designs are tailored to job tasks, with teaching and internship training grounded in project-based tasks. The analysis includes an evaluation of ideological and political courses, which have been assessed through 326 research sessions, achieving a 90% teaching satisfaction rate. The study also addresses the need for professional transformation and structural adjustment within undergraduate vocational education to enhance its responsiveness to evolving industry requirements. This strategic restructuring aims to supply high-quality technical and skilled talent effectively, driving the sustainable development of the vocational education system. © 2024, Journal of Commercial Biotechnology. This paper delves into the concept of craftsmanship in the context of biotechnology education, initially defining craftsmanship and extending it to encompass a new-era craftsmanship defined by the qualities essential in the biological sciences. The study employs a rigorously tested questionnaire to survey the current state of craftsmanship cultivation among students in higher vocational colleges, analyzing its prevalence and identifying the key factors influencing its development. This research not only assesses the current strategies employed by educational institutions but also explores the role of enterprises in fostering this vital attribute through internships and collaborative programs. Additionally, it evaluates the future trends in craftsmanship development from the perspectives of students, schools, and businesses. The results highlight a nuanced understanding of craftsmanship’s role in biotechnology education, revealing varying degrees of awareness and appreciation among students, and suggesting substantial improvements in students' biotechnological literacy. The paper concludes with a discussion on the satisfaction levels of all stakeholders with the current progress and suggests pathways for enhancing the cultivation of craftsmanship to meet future industry demands. This approach underscores the need for an integrated educational framework that not only promotes technical skills but also instills a deep sense of craftsmanship essential for innovation and excellence in the biotechnology field. © 2024, Journal of Commercial Biotechnology. Racial background and gender are considered relevant social categories in research on transitions to vocational education and training (VET). Given the contradictory empirical results and opposing theoretical expectations regarding their interaction, this study deals with perceived racial discrimination and investigates (1) differences between groups of origin, (2) gender differences in racial discrimination, and (3) gender differences in racial discrimination in various ethnic origin groups. Logistic regression models and marginal effects were calculated using data from the National Educational Panel Study s (NEPS) Starting Cohort 4 (N = 1,421). The results show that adolescents with Turkish immigrant backgrounds perceive more personal discrimination in the search for an apprenticeship than those of Polish, ex- Yugoslav, and ex-Soviet origin. Interaction analyses show that individuals experiences of discrimination may vary based on gender, with women being the disadvantaged group. The article discusses the suitability of the selected quantitative approach for intersectional inquiries compared to other possible study designs for intersectional research. © 2024 The Author(s).

Employability is a primary priority for vocational students in the competitive labor market, as it is essential to meet the demands of globalization and the Fourth Industrial Revolution. However, there is still limited research on the trends and developments, as well as systematic reviews available on this topic. This study aims to examine research trends and develop a conceptual framework related to the impact of internship experiences and employability, including its dimensions and indicators. This study reviews 23 articles published between 2009 and 2023 in the Scopus database, which appeared in 15 international journals. The research was analyzed using bibliometric and systematic review methods, employing Biblioshiny and VOSviewer software. The findings indicate that the highest publication trend occurred in 2022, with 5 published articles. The most productive country is the United States, with a total of 229 documents. Meanwhile, the most cited journal is Education and Training from Emerald Group Publishing. The author with the most citations is Irwin, Ami, with a total of 220 citations. The most developing topics, based on the thematic map, are student satisfaction, experiential learning, employers, and internship programs, which are dimensions of internship experience impacting the employability of vocational students. The implications of this research will assist stakeholders, industries, vocational education, the government, and researchers in policy formulation and curriculum development that are relevant to the needs of the labor market. © 2024 The Author(s). This article describes the project carried out by the students of the vocational training cycles of IES Escolas Proval [1] to participate in the CanSat challenge [2] organised by Esero, the Spanish delegation of the European Space Agency's (ESA) Educational Resources Office [3]. The challenge consists of building a satellite the size of a soda can that is capable of carrying out a specific mission. The development of the work and the search for solutions are challenges that students must overcome with the help of their mentors. © 2024 IEEE.

Objective: To evaluate the patient safety skills among nursing students in various academic settings. Methodology: In this cross-sectional study, data were gathered from 320 university nursing students from September 2023 until February 2024 through Health Professional Education in Patient Safety Survey. Results: There was a relation between patient safety awareness and GPA scores of the students (p=0.024). Clinical safety issues and understanding human & environmental factors were the highest safety domains(3.92±0.67), (3.91±0.52). There was a statistically significant difference between the classroom and clinical setting in risk management domain (p=0.033). Conclusion: For safe and effective patient care, nursing students should acquire the necessary competencies to navigate complex clinical environments and contribute to positive patient outcomes. © 2024, Pakistan Medical Association. The development of digital health education is a complex and dynamic process that requires innovative approaches to effectively address its challenges and promote its growth. This paper proposes the application of the AGIL model—a systemic functional framework that operates on the interaction between social systems and subsystems—to guide the informatization of English education in universities. The AGIL model is designed to manage the sustainable development of educational systems by maintaining a dynamic balance between technological advancements and societal needs. By systematically deconstructing the challenges faced in the informatization of English education, the AGIL model provides a global perspective that integrates technology, social systems, and educational frameworks. This approach aims to mitigate the technological impacts on education and enhance the system's overall effectiveness. The study's results indicate that, based on the AGIL model, the scores for school administration, research management, and information sharing in universities are 3.5, 3.1, and 2.9, respectively. These scores suggest that the informatization of English education is transitioning from the application stage to a more standardized level. The application of the AGIL model in this context effectively supports the construction of a robust English education system, leading to improved teaching standardization and enhanced student learning outcomes. By integrating digital health technologies and biotechnological tools, this approach ensures that universities, educators, and students all benefit from a more efficient and effective educational environment. © 2024, Journal of Commercial Biotechnology. The construction industry has long faced challenges of low productivity, high costs, and substantial waste. In recent years, Lean Construction has emerged as a promising solution to address these issues. This scientific article explores the principles of Lean Construction and investigates their application in building refurbishment projects. Specifically focusing on the context of building refurbishment, this article delves into the key concepts and tools of Lean Construction, such as Value Stream Mapping, Pull Planning, Just-in-Time Delivery, Last Planner System, and Visual Management. These tools enable the elimination of waste, improvement of project outcomes, increased productivity, and reduced costs. Moreover, this article presents the results of surveys and interviews conducted within the building refurbishment sector, examining the implementation of Lean Construction practices. The findings illustrate the potential benefits of Lean Construction in enhancing project delivery, reducing costs, and improving overall project outcomes. Based on these insights, practical recommendations are provided for the successful implementation of Lean Construction solutions in building refurbishment projects, including the importance of leadership, stakeholder collaboration, continuous improvement, and the use of data and metrics to measure progress.
