Construction projects often face challenges of poor performance, resulting in increased costs, delays, and defects. To address these issues, Construction 4.0 (C4.0) employs innovative technologies to enhance project efficiency, safety, and sustainability. However, construction projects lag in adopting these technologies, meeting significant obstacles, with the inadequately trained workforce being a major, underexplored difficulty leading to subpar construction project performance. This study aims to investigate the current status of existing research on C4.0 skills and construction project performance. To achieve this aim, this study conducts a systematic literature review using the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) method on 50 articles. The findings suggest that general Construction 4.0 skills are recognized, but the specific impact on construction projects during the fourth industrial revolution stays unexplored. The study findings emphasize the need for targeted research to identify and examine Construction 4.0 skills crucial for construction projects. © 2024 The author(s).

Skill demand and supply mismatch is a global problem identified as a root cause of unemployment, urging education and training institutions to revise their curriculum with the collaboration of industries. This article aimed to analyze prior research outputs on the effective Linkage of technical and vocational training institutions with industries and extract lessons for Ethiopia. The study covered 30 purposefully selected articles and analyzed thematically to identify lessons and implications that fit Ethiopia. The findings highlighted Linkage as a platform for sharing powers and responsibilities between education and training institutions and serve as a workplace transition. Linkage can be through qualification standard setting, curriculum development, internship, and apparent ship programs. The industry serves as a laboratory that allows trainees to analyze, synthesize, and reflect on the technological needs and challenges of industries, enables them to solve problems of industries, creates employment opportunities, allows industries to select competent workers, helps to share training costs and exchange expertise, builds the image of technical and vocational training. The findings further identified the challenges of Linkage and its coping strategies. Finally, the review concluded that Linkage is necessary rather than the choice to minimize skill mismatches, reduce unemployment, and increase productivity, especially in countries like Ethiopia that run short of training resources. However, further research is needed to monitor the situation continuously and determine appropriate policy changes for skill development interventions. © 2024 The Author(s). STEM education seeks to respond to the challenges of the fourth industrial revolution and to prepare future generations of the city in 21st century skills and scientific and technological vocations. This article aims to identify the characteristics of the educational experiences lived in processes of partial and total implementation of the STEM approach. To this end, the article is located in the empirical-analytical paradigm, with a population of 2, 511 teachers and 18, 421 students from the 10th and 11th grades of 75 educational institutions in Medellín. The probabilistic random sampling (confidence level of 95% and margin of error of 5%) shows a sample of 390 teachers and 384 students. However, after filtering, data from 570 teachers and 3, 262 students collected through a survey of 139 questions (Likert, dichotomous, polytomous, and multiple choice) were analyzed. The results allow identifying problem-based learning as the most implemented didactic strategy; the area of technology and information technology with the highest integration into the curriculum; the greatest uses of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) are for communication and collaboration; the most implemented digital competencies are for surfing the internet and using email, and the partner with the most significant participation is the state, represented in different public and private organizations. Among the conclusions arises the need for a greater reflection and awareness of the processes and learning achieved by researchers and educational institutions to strengthen students’ scientific and technological training. © (2024), (OmniaScience). Background: Multiple stressors as well as health-and quality-impairing effects of strain in the nursing profession require the systematic acquisition of competence in dealing with these demands, starting at the stage of initial vocational training. This study investigates whether an instructional design, which merges didactic principles of nursing education with concepts and training measures from stress psychology, promotes the acquisition of stress coping competence more effectively than regular teaching on the relevant curricular field at nursing schools. Methods: The quasi-experimental study design, based on the Solomon four-group plan, included 332 trainees in Germany. The assessment of stress coping competence at the beginning and at the end of the intervention provided a video-stimulated situational judgment test covering nursing-specific stressful situations. All were validated by field experts. Complementing group comparisons, regression analyses examined intervention effects at the individual level while controlling for other predictors of learning success. Results: The highest solution rates for the two basic dimensions of stress coping competence, i.e., (1) situation assessment and (2) strategy selection and justification, occurred in the treatment classes without a pretest. At the individual level, treatment effects were confirmed for the first dimension. Students with a migration background showed lower competence gains than other students. Conclusion: The instructional design and the competence test provide valuable foundations for promoting and for diagnosing coping skills. Nevertheless, subsequent studies should examine adaptive support for different learner groups. Furthermore, additional observational phases should focus on the deliberate practice of acquired coping strategies in the practical training settings of nursing education. © © 2024 Warwas, Krebs, Vorpahl, Weyland, Wilczek, Seeber and Wittmann.

Introduction. The research problem pertains to the entire system of vocational education; however, it is illustrated through the example of higher education. The job-education mismatch effect refers to the phenomenon where university graduates, regardless of whether they hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree, choose jobs that do not align with their level of education. Aim. The present article aimed to provide a theoretical conceptualisation and empirical analysis of the job-education mismatch effect at various stages of the transition from university to the labour market (six months, one year, and 7–10 years). During these stages, university graduates can evaluate how their university experiences have influenced their career choices. Methodology and research methods. The empirical sample comprised monitoring surveys of university graduates from a large Russian university conducted between 2017 and 2022, six months after graduation (n = 7,706). Additionally, semi-structured interviews were carried out with respondents in 2021 (n = 10). This information was further supplemented by semi-structured interviews with middle-aged workers conducted 7 to 10 years after graduation (n = 10) and by monitoring the effectiveness of Russian universities based on the number of enterprises serving as practical training bases under agreements established with universities from 2020 to 2022. Results. The results of the study reveal differences in the selection of initial professional trajectories among university graduates with varying educational backgrounds. The typology of these choices categorises graduates into four groups: achievers, indifferentists, rationalists, and self-realisers. The findings, derived from a quantitative assessment of the university-business partnership network, raise concerns about how this network is managed by universities, especially within federal universities and those adhering to the industrial leadership track outlined in the programme Priority-2030. Scientific novelty. The research materials contribute to the development of scientific insights into the behaviour patterns of young people as they make professional choices in the context of labour market variability. Practical significance. The reduction of the job-education mismatch can be enhanced through project-based learning, which fosters direct interaction between industry partners and students. This engagement increases interest in the cultivation and early recruitment of proactive students for the development of high-tech industries and intellectual services. © Melnik A.D., Sudakova A.E., Antonova N.L.

Undergraduate students, who are responsible for equipping themselves with the university's guidance, possess a mutual vision in getting well for job preparedness. However, the endeavours are not promising for obtaining employment. This study seeks to develop a solid body of information regarding the elements that contribute to work preparation among undergraduate students through a comprehensive and efficient evaluation of existing literature. A rapid literature review method was employed in selecting the ten relevant articles. The process involved searching articles from two databases using specific keywords. The screening process involved the exclusion criteria, which encompassed studies that focused solely on evaluating the effectiveness of a particular job-related training and samples that were not undergraduate students. The results revealed that the papers were authored by researchers from the United States, China, Australia, Canada, and the United Kingdom. The relevant factors discovered were categorised as either environmental, personal, or a combination of both. However, personal factors have received greater emphasis. The findings revealed that it is crucial to encourage individuals’ ideas and motives, which are essential for ensuring mental well-being. In addition, the environmental aspects were portrayed as resources, providing opportunities for students to adequately prepare for their profession. However, the degree to which students are job-prepared heavily relies on their awareness of the knowledge they have acquired, enabling them to be self-assured and accountable to both themselves and society. Therefore, it is recommended that universities provide additional programmes that not only prioritise education but also aim to raise awareness of their capabilities. © (2024), (Elite Scientific Publications). Background: Bell’s Palsy (BP) is an acute lower motor nerve impairment of the facial nerve, causing sudden paralysis on one side of the face and significantly affecting the patient’s quality of life. Physiotherapy is critical for rehabilitation after BP, aiding functional recovery. Various physical therapy interventions, such as dry needling, taping, and nerve mobilization, have proven effective in treating BP. However, different rehabilitation approaches and knowledge levels among therapists can result in varying treatment outcomes. Therefore, understanding rehabilitation specialists’ knowledge and attitudes towards BP is essential for ensuring effective treatment. To date, no studies have examined the knowledge and attitudes of rehabilitation professionals in Saudi Arabia regarding BP. Objective: This study aims to evaluate the knowledge and attitudes of physical therapists in Saudi Arabia regarding the rehabilitation of BP. Methods: A cross-sectional observational study was conducted with 150 licensed physical therapists in Saudi Arabia, selected via convenience sampling. Participants completed an anonymous online survey covering demographics, knowledge of, and attitudes toward BP rehabilitation techniques. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyze the data. Results: The participants had a mean age of 33.13 ± 6.85 years, with 68.7% being female. Most held Bachelor’s degrees (65.3%) and worked in general hospitals (72.7%). The average knowledge score was 8.99 ± 1.95, indicating moderate knowledge levels. Attitudes towards BP rehabilitation were positive, particularly regarding early intervention, emotional support, and coordination exercises. Significant differences in knowledge and attitudes were observed based on gender, experience, and practice location. Conclusion: Physical therapists in Saudi Arabia demonstrate moderate knowledge and positive attitudes toward BP rehabilitation. Continued professional education and collaboration are recommended to improve clinical standards in treating BP. © 2024 Albishi et al.
