The study of social demand and labor demand analyzes the relevance of the planning of higher education programs to meet the needs of society. Given this, the present study aims to identify social and labor demand in the Amazon region, through a case study applied in the province of Rodríguez de Mendoza. The methodology used was a descriptive, non-experimental design with a population composed of fourth and fifth-grade students from secondary institutions and organizations with economic activities in the province. The sample used was 747 students and 84 organizations, to which a survey was applied to collect the information. The results show that 72% are willing to study at the National University Toribio Rodríguez de Mendoza and 38.7% of the students want to study Agribusiness Engineering, followed by Agroecology Engineering with 24.2%. It is concluded that the affinity for these two fields of study is because the province has great agro-export potential, with coffee being its main agricultural export product. © 2024 The Author(s). The pursuit of equitable education is key to a government’s regulation and allocation of life-chances, which enables social integration. Yet, evidence of the diminishing returns of degrees and of the “skills mismatch” between higher education training and labour market requirements casts doubts on the role of higher educational institutions in facilitating social mobility. This paper draws upon the findings of 40 qualitative interviews with young people conducted in 2018 in Hong Kong to shed light on the micro-level processes in which higher education training is translated into graduate employment outcomes. Findings comparing two sets of higher education graduates’ interview narratives are presented. Assumptions of the logic of human capital theory are questioned from the “positional” and the “processual” perspectives on graduate employability. The discussion unpacks the meanings of “skills mismatch” and “graduate employability,” and foregrounds the assumptions of the differential values assigned to skills and knowledges of different kinds in the local higher education system. With the insights drawn, this paper concludes with a reflection on the relevance of higher education to our understanding of social mobility and social integration in post-Covid-19 Hong Kong. © 2024, French Centre for Research on Contemporary China. University-Industry (U-I) collaborative entrepreneurship education has emerged as a potential solution that enables the industry to access academic knowledge while providing university students with opportunities to supplement their classroom instruction with practical experience. This study aims to systematise the most relevant U-I collaborative entrepreneurship education literature, trends, and dynamics. Based on a sample of 67 articles extracted from the WoS database and through the application of bibliographic analyses, the results show six main thematic clusters: 1) entrepreneurship teaching and learning; 2) learning-by-doing curricula; 3) student entrepreneurial motivation, intention, and self-efficacy; 4) higher education institutions entrepreneurial cultivation; 5) entrepreneurship education and training pedagogy; 6) digital integration. Furthermore, an integrative framework illustrating different research paths and their interconnectedness was developed. Directions for future research to advance academic understanding of U-I collaborative entrepreneurship education were advanced. © © 2024 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd.

Social and economic systematic changes create a new pattern of industrial structure and profession; technical and vocational education and training (TVET) is deeply connected to industrial upgrading and digital transformation because of its high relevance to cultivate emerging professional talents. Information literacy inevitably becomes the prevailing condition of sustainable development of TVET. Through a literature study, this systematic review selected and studied 61 journal articles related to information literacy in the TVET context in China from Web of Science (WOS) databases and China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) between 2014 and 2023. The main findings include; (a) technological, social and educational circumstances influence which receive extensive attention from researchers, (b) frequent use of narrative inquiry method with lack of empirical studies, (c) themes identified of information literacy among TVET institutions in China shows significant differences as compared to the themes of information literacy in higher education, and the reasons underlying this finding has been critically analysed. This review may interest academics, decision-makers and trainers in improving information literacy education among TVET institutions in China in line with the sophisticated demands of the industry and community. © © 2024 Dai, Jambari, Noh and Hisham.

Background: As a critical discipline within the healthcare field, nursing students inevitably encounter complex ethical dilemmas during their clinical internships in hospitals. These dilemmas test not only their professional knowledge and skills but also their ethical sensitivity. To effectively enhance nursing students’ ability to address ethical dilemmas in clinical practice, fostering their ethical sensitivity is crucial. Ethical sensitivity is the awareness of ethical issues even in situations where there are no obvious moral conflicts. A high level of ethical sensitivity helps nursing students make more morally appropriate decisions in their actual work, thereby improving the quality of nursing services and patient satisfaction. Situational case study teaching is a method that simulates real clinical situations, allowing students to enhance their ethical sensitivity through the analysis and discussion of specific cases. Based on this, the present study aims to explore the impact of situational case study teaching on the ethical sensitivity of nursing students who have not yet started their hospital clinical internships. Methodology: Between April 2024 and June 2024, this study implemented an educational intervention using the situational case study teaching method at the faculty of Nursing, Lincoln University College, Malaysia, after obtaining permission from Muramatsu (the author of the ESQ-NS) and approval from the institutional Ethical Committee of Lincoln University College. A convenience sampling method was used to select a total of 55 nursing students who had not yet begun their clinical internships. First, an initial questionnaire survey was conducted with all 55 nursing students to assess their level of ethical sensitivity before the educational intervention. Subsequently, the situational case study teaching intervention was conducted, involving the analysis and discussion of specific cases aimed at enhancing the students’ ethical sensitivity. After the intervention, a follow-up questionnaire survey was conducted with these students to assess the effect of the educational intervention and the changes in their level of ethical sensitivity. Results: After the intervention, the total ESQ-NS score of nursing students was 38.5±13.5, which was higher than the pre-intervention score of 33±19. Statistical analysis showed that the difference was significant (t=4.109, P<0.05). After the intervention, the per-item score rate on the ESQ-NS was 82.05%±6.59%, higher than the pre-intervention per-item score rate of 66.59%±5.68%, with an increase observed in each item’s score rate. Conclusion: The study results indicate that the situational case study teaching method has a positive effect on enhancing the ethical sensitivity of nursing students. Statistical analysis revealed that the improvement was highly significant (p<0.01). Specific scenario discussions effectively promote deep engagement and critical thinking among nursing students in the classroom, thereby improving their ethical sensitivity. © 2024 Think Biotech Limited. This study examines the landscape of technology-integrated learning in Indonesian education, focusing on the crucial role of online learning, despite technological advancements and social media utilization. The investigation scrutinized the mediating function of online learning motivation in the nexus between service quality, social media engagement, pedagogical competence of educators, and student learning satisfaction. Employing a quantitative approach, specifically an ex-post facto design, the research included 345 respondents from 28 vocational high schools in Gianyar, Indonesia, encompassing both public and private institutions. Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) analysis indicated a significant link between educational service quality and online learning motivation (0.367). Teachers’ pedagogical competence also has a noteworthy influence on online learning motivation (0.003). Additionally, both educational service quality (0.301) and social media use (0.031) significantly affected learning satisfaction. In conclusion, this study highlights that higher-quality educational services are positively associated with increased online learning motivation. However, increased use of social media does not necessarily result in increased online learning motivation. Similarly, improvements in teachers’ pedagogical skills do not immediately translate into increased online learning motivation. © 2024 The Author(s). The Ministry of education has issued relevant documents to promote the development of vocational education one after another, and vocational education has been raised to an unprecedented height, and has been highly valued by all aspects of local and national. This paper proposes a study on teaching higher vocational accounting using the apprenticeship system as a response to the national education policy. From the development history of the master-apprentice system, the necessity of the "master-apprentice system"in the accounting industry is introduced, and the specific application of the "master-apprentice system"in the teaching of higher vocational accounting is outlined. The students of Shanwei Institute of Technology were selected as the research object, and the data were collected by distributing questionnaires, and the independent samples t-test was applied to experimentally analyze the knowledge transfer of accounting majors in Shanwei Institute of Technology. After the teaching intervention, there were significant differences in accounting skills, accounting knowledge, and comprehensive quality of accounting among the students in Group C and Group D, with P<0.05, which indicated that compared with the traditional teaching mode, the teacher-apprentice teaching mode had a more obvious effect on the students' enhancement. This study confirms the feasibility of the "mentor-apprentice system"in the education of higher vocational accounting majors. © 2024 Miaohua Luo et al., published by Sciendo.

This timely book takes stock of the wide range of developments in society, education and assessment and offers conclusions and strategies that are necessary for the future of educational assessment. Drawing on examples from the UK, Europe and USA, the book will dissect cultural, political, psychological and ideological ideas on society, education and assessment and foreground pressing issues relating to artificial intelligence, social justice and climate change. Acknowledging its predominantly Western perspective and providing context on the evolution of educational assessment, the book will bridge the gap between theory and practice to progress debate and discourse on creating a culture of assessment fit for the future and rethinking strategies for the path ahead. Dairy Cow Production is the core course of any animal husbandry and veterinary major program in higher vocational education. It is an application-oriented professional course with a strong leaning toward practicality, intended mainly to cultivate comprehensive practical skills related to dairy cow production. To highlight the cultivation of practical skills in students while stimulating their interest and fostering virtues, the course teaching content is guided by industry needs and job requirements. Curriculum reform is implemented through the approach of "precise education, integration of learning and training, and job development"; that is, by effectively integrating farm job tasks with the teaching content, work process, learning process, job evaluation, and learning evaluation. By combining knowledge transmission, ability development, and ideological and political education, the course aims to be able to cultivate application-oriented personnel with the high-quality and strong technical and practical skills, solid theoretical knowledge, and high comprehension ability required for the development of the dairy industry. The cloud-assisted English teaching advancements plays a vital part in make sure that the teaching and learning practices. The English learning and teaching standard are continuously considered as the most advanced development in the vocational education. The enhancing the utilization of the English learning and teaching in vocational education is a fascinating subject. The English teachers faced challenges to acquire an interaction as well as adaptability with their online classroom. The aim of this research is to determine the performance of the higher vocational English teaching system. Hence, this research proposes the Fuzzy Logic with Galactic Swarm Optimization (FL-GSO) approach for the higher vocational English teaching system in Cloud Computing. GSO enhances the effectiveness of educational applications through optimizing various parameters and reducing latency. The experimental outcomes demonstrate that the proposed FL-GSO approach attains the better recall rate of 0.64 on the different packet sizes like 200 respectively as compared to Fuzzy Logic with Cuckoo Search Optimization (FL-CSO). © 2024 IEEE.
