Vocational education should not only pay attention to the cultivation of students' vocational skills, but also pay attention to students' career planning and development. Association rule analysis is a data mining technology, which is used to discover the correlation between data. This article studies the career development prediction model based on association rule analysis, aiming at improving the accuracy and effect of vocational education students' career path planning. By comparing the prediction effect of career development prediction model based on decision tree (DT) algorithm and this algorithm, this algorithm shows better performance in prediction accuracy and effect. Based on the analysis of association rules, this algorithm can deeply explore the correlation between students' individual characteristics and career development, and thus predict students' career path planning more accurately. Compared with the career development prediction model based on DT algorithm, the predicted value of this algorithm is closer to the actual value, and the analysis result of association rules is more intuitive and easy to understand, which is convenient for educators and students to understand the basis and significance of career path planning. © 2023 IEEE.

Introduction: Considering the significant role of higher education, particularly medical sciences education, in the health and development of society, the educational system should be planned in a way that maximally caters to the community's needs. The goal of this article is to present a responsive and justice-centered education model in medical sciences education. Methods: In the quantitative phase, data from 335 faculty members of Payambar-e Azam Hospital in Hormozgan were collected using stratified random sampling and a questionnaire that identified components within a Likert scale. The content validity and structural validity of the questionnaire were confirmed through confirmatory factor analysis. The Cronbach's alpha coefficient exceeded 0.70, indicating reliability. The data were analyzed using structural equation modeling with SmartPLS-3 software. Results: Equity-centered, universality, needs assessment, content, and principled are characteristics of equity-based education. According to the T-value modeling results, the factor loads of all model variables were above 0.96 and, at a 95% confidence level, were statistically significant. The highest factor load was related to enabling and inhibitory factors, with a factor load of 0.54 and variance of 0.23. In contrast, the lowest factor load was related to the dimensions of responsiveness and equity-based education with a factor load of 0.12 and a variance of 0.02. Conclusion: Universality, needs assessment, and content should be considered in equity-based and principled education in the planning of educational programs at medical universities. © This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License.

Teaching digital competence is a challenge in the professional field of teachers. It also is an identified problem in the research to which answers can be given. Specifically, the evaluation of CDD is a key element for making decisions regarding teacher training and future lines of research. Taking this challenge as a focus, the objective of this article is to provide an updated overview of the tools used in the processes of evaluation of the digital competence of teachers. For that, an investigation has been done focusing on the type of research design, instruments and analysis used, as well as the results obtained after its application and its implications. The study carried out has been approached from a systematic review of the literature, following the guidelines set out in the PRISMA declaration, with a sample of 66 articles published between 2017 and February 2022 in journals indexed in the Web of Science and Scopus, in which the CDD was evaluated. The results obtained show medium and low levels of diagnosed CDD and offer evidence of the relevance of CDD evaluation in its improvement. Likewise, these show that the European framework DIGCOMPEDU and the Spanish framework proposed by INTEF are followed by researchers from all over the world. However, it is a common practice for researchers to develop their own instrument to assess DDC, with the self-assessment questionnaire used in most studies, while it is recommended to complement it with other qualitative tools to assess the actual level acquired. The conclusions show that researchers agree on two fundamental aspects: to increase teacher training in digital competence and to progress in research designs that allow us to verify how the CDD level improves through training proposals contextualized in the educational stage or type of teaching. © 2023, Univ Nacional de Educacion a Distancia (UNED). This article explores the experiences of those who lead undergraduate education-related programmes in further education (FE) colleges in England. Questionnaire and interview fieldwork with 14 further education-based programme leaders were supplemented by a comparison survey of equivalent professionals from higher education institutions (HEIs). Drawing on Hodgson and Spours’s four-level lifelong learning ecology and Nardi and O’Day’s keystone species concept, our analysis characterises the role of the undergraduate programme leader as distinctive and critical within the further education context. Extremely multifaceted and busy, this role is also poorly defined, often involving individuals relying on craft wisdom accrued within specific contexts. Three overall strands of responsibility emerged in participants’ view of their role: the administrative and organisational demands of colleges and the validation/franchising of higher education partners; the provision to learners of appropriate support in their studies; and the recognition of and response to pastoral needs of students. Tensions were identified between these, with one strand tending to preoccupy programme leaders at any time, obscuring their view of other important role objectives. As such, we introduce the concept of sightlines to capture the importance of enabling programme leaders to see through and beyond their institutional context and engage outwards, rather than turn inwards. Practical recommendations include the provision of time and licence to study for advanced qualifications, to undertake research and to help nurture distinctive cultures of higher education learning. © 2023, UCL IOE Press. Micro-credentials have recently become a huge research interest, as they play an important role in the social, economic, and higher education sectors. Mindful of growing critique in some circles and recent publications, this paper offers an informed analysis of the potential of micro-credentials to foster post-COVID-19 pandemic recovery across a spectrum of dimensions, including supporting innovation in higher education institutions (HEIs). It reports a systematic literature review analysis of scientific articles published between 2015 and January 2022 on micro-credential research in the field of higher education. Results of a bibliometric and qualitative content analysis from 32 scientific articles provided insights into the potential of micro-credentials to foster post-pandemic recovery through social, economic, and higher education innovations. The findings suggest that the potential can be unfolded through multiple dimensions, like offering more possibilities for individuals to up-skill, re-skill and enter the labor market (economic context), enhancing lifelong learning by developing flexible personal learning pathways (social context), extending services in assessment and recognition of non-formal and informal learning, and introducing stackable credits and previous qualifications (higher education context). Background: Pharmacy technician education is typically at the pre-degree level and comprises instruction in scientific and clinical disciplines. The assessment of practical laboratory skills often utilises attainment-referenced methods, which are not always appropriate for vocationally-focused programmes. Methods: An objective structured practical examination (OSPE) was introduced to assess student competency in three key areas (accurate weighing, calibrating a pH meter and performing a dilution). Students were assessed using weighted criterion-based assessment criteria and an overall global performance rating, which allowed cut scores to be determined using a borderline regression method. Student opinions were collected using online questionnaires on a five-point Likert scale. Results: The move to OSPEs did not significantly alter the distribution of student results from previous years (mean ± SD, OSPE vs legacy: 77 ± 19% vs 73 ± 21%), suggesting that academic integrity was maintained. There was a high level of consistency in Likert score responses (Cronbach’s α = 0.823), with students clearly favouring the OSPE approach. Conclusion: The move to an OSPE-based assessment was successful and provided a basis for the development of similar assessment strategies in the pharmacy technician programme. © 2023 FIP.

Project-based learning (PjBL) is one of the topics of education that is often discussed and has become a trend in itself. The purpose of this study was to analyze PjBL articles and see the extent of the research in Indonesia from 2015 to 2021. The data analyzed came from the SCOPUS database source. 601 documents were taken from the metadata. VOSviewer is used to customize it. The results of the study used standard bibliometric measures such as documents by author, subject area, affiliation and citation analysis. Based on the data obtained, we can see the top 10 authors and universities in Indonesia have written about PjBL. Mathematics and chemistry are categorized as having a small number of documents because they are only around 2.2% of the total documents. Related to PjBL, Learning outcome and machine learning are topics discussed most. The results of the study of this article are expected to enrich input for further reserchers to study PjBL related topics in more depth in the subject areas of mathematics and chemistry. It also provides an overview of PjBL study so that they can have a positive impact on the development of PjBL. © 2023 American Institute of Physics Inc.. All rights reserved.

Introduction: Whilst admission to dental school in many jurisdictions requires applicants to shadow dentists or undertake work experience at a dental practice, little is known about the impacts on professional learning when dental students work part-time as dental assistants whilst concurrently studying dentistry. This paper explores what, how and from whom dental students who work as dental assistants acquire professional knowledges during employment. Methods: This study draws on a qualitative analysis of interviews with sixteen senior dental students who have extra-curricular part-time employment as dental assistants in private dental practices. Results: Analysis produced four themes that relate to students learning in the professional environment: students learn about the responsibilities, rhythms and routines of practice, as well as patient communication and interactions. Students embedded in the dental team noticed and related to the dispositions and the work of dentistry. Students learned from all members of the dental team including clinical and non-clinical staff (reception, administration, laboratory and sterilisation). Discussion: Students used their experiences in a practice setting to further their professional education. The ability to “read” a situation and formulate an appropriate response requires the integration of complex and actionable professional knowledges. Conclusion: This research study presents insight into the ways dental students employed as dental assistants are embedded in and learn from the dental team in a critically evaluative manner. Students professionally notice and make sense of complex practice environments whilst undertaking university studies to learn about practice routines, rhythms and responsibilities as well as advancing confidence in relating with patients. This study provides a stimulus for further research about the contribution of workplace experiences to dental education. © 2022 The Authors. This article aims to identify the challenges and opportunities in cross-program problem-based learning (PBL) in higher education, based on an Industry 4.0 case with undergraduate and graduate students studying for engineering degrees. The method for this research comprised a cross-program course structured to bring together undergraduate and graduate students using a PBL approach. Five Industry 4.0-related projects were developed in collaboration with four multinational companies. The authors present the results of the projects and feedback from students, professors and industry partners. The results and feedback led to empirical findings on the challenges and opportunities of cross-program PBL in higher education. The findings contribute to the design and implementation of teaching and learning practices and educational policies at undergraduate and graduate levels. In the approach adopted, the undergraduate students acquired hands-on experience while the graduate students had the opportunity to supervise applied research and practice. The study highlights practices that can help to better prepare future industry professionals. © The Author(s) 2022.
